The High School Jazz Choir is an Honors group that meets on Monday nights between 6-8pm to work on improvisation, learn repertoire, practice with rhythm section, and scat sing. Participation is by audition and is open to those students who are enrolled in one of the High School's ensembles: Concert Choir, Concert Band, or Orchestra.
Recently the ensemble earned a Silver medal at the MAJE Festival at Worcester Poly-tech Institute and an excellent rating and 1st place at the Music Festival in Philadelphia in 2012.
We have been fortunate to have two clinicians from the Berklee College of Music in past years, and hope to continue to offer Medfield High School students wonderful opportunities to grow as Jazz musicians.
Each school year we perform at Jazz Winterfest in December and Jazz Night in the spring and had the opportunity to sing at the Town Meeting in 2012.
